Baldi Hot Springs ~ Costa Rica Life

Life in Costa Rica has it’s advantages. Oh ya know…like hitting up the hot springs on the weekend, just for fun!

What’s a hot spring?

noun
  1. 1.
a spring of naturally hot water, typically heated by subterranean volcanic activity.

Why go to one? Because warm, and especially hot, springs often have a very high mineral content, containing everything from simple calcium to lithium, and even radium. Because of both the folklore and the claimed medical value some of these springs have, they are often popular tourist destinations, and locations for rehabilitation clinics for those with disabilities.

Whether it’s [see above] true or not, you should go to one and here’s my reasons for encouraging it…

It’s beautiful…you’re surrounded by green, jungle, water, plants, and animals.

It feels good…it feels like you’re in a hot tub but you last long, you’re not dying of heat.

There are options…the springs have various temperatures from warm to excessively hot, and it’s actually nice to go from one to the next letting your body adjust to the temperature of each one.

It’s relaxing…you can wade around and let yourself be freed of your worries and just soak it all in.

It’s inexpensive…staying at the hotel may be costly, I’m not sure because I didn’t stay the night here, but buying a wristband to use their hot springs for a day (which you can stay until 11pm) was much cheaper than I expected.

It appeared to be romantic…unfortunately not for me, because my guy is in the USA and I went with friends, but so many couples were cuddling up and enjoying the experience together. I was envious.

Just to say you’ve done it…the hot springs are known all over the world, maybe it’s on your bucket list? Check it off, already!
